Open jet wind tunnels can be impacted by low-frequency pressure fluctuations due to different feedback mechanisms coupling with vortices shed from the nozzle exit.These fluctuations can reduce the simulation quality o f the wind tunnel and/or reduce the effective wind speed range o f the facility.Considerable research has been conducted to understand the on-set o f these strong pressure fluctuations and different mitigation methods have been attempted to reduce these fluctuations.The idea o f using Helmholtz resonators to provide strong absorption in the low frequency regime has been around for a long time in different acoustical applications.It has been applied in aero-acoustic fields also to control cavity resonances.A parametric study o f applying Helmholtz resonators to control the pressure fluctuations in open-jet wind tunnels was undertaken.An existing open-jet tunnel was modified to produce strong low-frequency pressure fluctuations.A control volume to represent a Helmholtz resonator was attached to the wind tunnel.The control volume was made adjustable to produce different tuning frequencies to control fluctuations at different wind speeds.The results of the study are presented in this paper. s o m m a ir eLes souffleries arodynamiques veine ouverte peuvent tre affectes par diverses fluctuations de basse frquence dues diffrents mcanismes de rtroaction engendrs par la configuration de la veine.De telles fluctuations peuvent mme endommager la structure de la soufflerie si de fortes rsonances en rsultent.Ces fluctuations, rduiront habituellement la qualit de simulation de la soufflerie et/ou rduiront la gamme efficace de vitesse de vent de l'installation.Des recherches considrables ont t conduites pour compren dre le debut de ces fortes fluctuations de pression, ainsi diffrentes mthodes de rduction ont t tents pour rduire ces fluctuations.L'ide d 'utiliser des rsonateurs de Helmholtz pour fournir une forte absorption dans le rgime de basse frquence a t depuis longtemps employ dans diffrentes applications acoustiques.Cette approche a galement t applique dans les domaines aro-acoustique pour contrler les rsonances de cavit.Une tude paramtrique concernant l 'utilisation d 'un rsonateur de Helmholtz pour contrler les fluctuations de pression dans des souffleries arodynamiques veine ouverte a t entreprise.Une soufflerie arodynamique veine ouverte existante a t modifie pour produire de fortes fluctuations de pression basse frquence.Un volume de contrle, reprsentant un rsonateur de Helmholtz a t fix la soufflerie.Le volume de contrle a t rendu rglable pour produire diffrentes frquences de mise au point et ainsi contrler les fluctuations diffrentes vitesses de vent.
