Abstract
Hallâj est l’une des personnalités les plus éminentes du soufisme. Un grand procès politique et religieux, qui opposa, à Bagdad, en 309/922, Shi‘ites et Sunnites, juristes et Soufis, l'excommunia et le condamna au gibet, pour avoir prêché l’identification du mystique à Dieu, par amour. L’objectif de ce travail est de faire une comparaison de deux oeuvres française et égyptienne, qui se sont penchées sur la vie de ce Soufi, en l’occurrence, un récit factuel, le premier tome de « La passion de Hallâj » de Louis Massignon, et un récit fictionnel, la pièce de théâtre de Salah Abd Al-Sabour, « Le drame de Hallâj ». Cette étude procède par deux étapes. La première s’attarde sur les stratégies argumentatives adoptées par Massignon pour réhabiliter Hallâj. La seconde propose une lecture « palimpsestueuse » du récit fictionnel, qui fait résonner un nouveau discours sur Hallâj.
