Abstract
L’objet de cet article est d’interroger le postulat éthique de l’invisibilité du traducteur. Si ce postulat doit être rejeté dans sa forme classique, il gagnerait à être préservé sous une forme inédite. Sous ce nouveau jour, l’(in)visibilité ouvrirait sur une éthique de la traduction donnant sa juste place aux silences du traducteur. À l’heure de l’activisme politique et social du traducteur, il est, plus que jamais, nécessaire de poser la question des conditions éthiques de son désengagement.
