li existe, dans plusieurs langues autochtones viables (i.e. encore utilises la mai son par la jeune gnration), des diffrences linguistiques majeures entre les diverses gnrations de locuteurs Dans les communauts cri de l' Est de la baie James (Figure (litt. la vra ie langue cri ), le plain Cree, liigli Cree, bush Cree, eiders' lrmguage ou encore tlieir la11guage tel que dsign par les informateurs plus jeunes, caractrise la parole des personnes ges unilingues ou des locuteurs non scolariss qui ont vcu une bonne partie de leur existence en fort. Cette varit se rt de codification culturelle (Francey 1998, p. 83) et se dfinit par un nivea u de complexit smantique redevable la richesse de certains registres, ainsi qu' une pleine articulation phonologique et morphologique. En revanche, elle est en mme temps relativement abstraite et pose des problmes de polysmie pour les jeunes locuteurs (Junker 2003).
