Con el objeto de disenar un Programa de Extension Agricola, se aplico la Planificacion Participativa en la comunidad La Estrella, la cual esta ubicada en el municipio La Canada de Urdaneta, estado Zulia. La poblacion considerada en el estudio correspondio a las 360 personas establecidas en la comunidad. Se empleo el metodo DPAP (diagnostico, participacion, aprendizaje, planificacion y ejecucion) y se promovieron reuniones con los productores y sus familias para identificar y jerarquizar los problemas de la comunidad y sus posibles soluciones, ademas se determinaron las necesidades de extension. A traves de los resultados se evidencio que los principales problemas de la comunidad se derivan de la poca participacion de sus habitantes y a la falta de organizacion comunitaria. Como parte de las estrategias y acciones para enfrentar la problematica actual, se diseno un Programa de Extension Agricola conformado por cinco proyectos participativos de capacitacion en trabajo en equipo, organizacion comunitaria, practicas de manejo de cultivos, administracion y comercializacion de productos agricolas, utilizando la matriz del marco logico.
