Resume Objectifs : Le domaine des preparations steriles en etablissement de sante est l’objet d’une mise a jour importante en Amerique avec la publication de nouvelles normes de pratique. L’objectif de cet article est de decrire la mise en place en pharmacie d’un protocole de validation microbiologique dans le secteur d’hemato- oncologie dans un centre hospitalier de soins tertiaires au Quebec. Methodologie : Au CHU mere-enfant Sainte- Justine, nous avons mene deux etudes de validation microbiologique afin de decrire le niveau de contamination des enceintes de preparation. L’etude presente le protocole et les resultats de 43 semaines d’application. Resultats : On note un taux moyen de croissance de 6,6 %. Parmi les agents identifies, on note une colonie de bacillus sp. a trois reprises, une colonie de penicillium sp. a une reprise, une colonie de staphylococcus coagulase negative a une reprise et un champignon filamenteux a une reprise. Conclusion : Peu d’etudes ont ete publiees sur la validation microbiologique en pharmacie hospitaliere en Amerique du Nord. Cette etude demontre la faisabilite de la mise en place d’un protocole de validation microbiologique en etablissement de sante. Abstract Objective: Sterile product preparation in healthcare establishments has been the focus of important changes, these in response to the publication of new practice guidelines in North America. The purpose of this article is to describe the implementation of a pharmacy protocol for microbiological validation in haematology- oncology in a tertiary care hospital. Methods: At the Sainte-Justine mere-enfant university health center, two microbiological validation studies were conducted to assess the degree of contamination found in the preparation areas. The study describes the protocol and the results after 43 weeks of application. Results: An average rate of microbiological growth of 6.6% was observed. Of the identified organisms, bacillus species colonies were observed three times while penicillum species and staphylococcus coagulase negative colonies were observed once, as well as filamentous mushroom. Conclusion: Few studies have been published on microbiological validation in North American hospital pharmacies. This study demonstrates the feasibility of implementing a protocol for microbiological validation n healthcare establishments.
