Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Congress of scholars, writers and artists of Polish descent will be held in Montreal from May 16th to 18th 1975. It is being organized by the Canadian Branch of the Institute. The meetings will be held at McGill University (Leacock Bldg.) in 18 sections, namely: architecture and fine arts, economics, ethnicity and Poles abroad, geography, history, law, literature, mathematics, physics, medicine, natural sciences, philosophy, Polish institutes and libraries abroad, political science, press and mass media, psychology, sociology, technical sciences, theological studies. We expect a considerable participation of eminent scholars and scientists. The program will include many interesting debates and discussions such as: a symposium on ethnicity and its growing importance in the cultural, social and political life; Poland in the last quarter of the 20th century ? analysis of trends; the problem of the Polish press and mass media abroad, and many others. The two previous Congresses held in 1966 and 1971 proved very useful in establishing mutual contacts and pointing up the contribution of Polish scholars to the cultural and intellectual life of many countries of their adoption. An important characteristic of the Third Congress will be the participation of a large number of younger Polish scholars and intellectuals, many of them born abroad. The language of the papers and discussions will be Polish, English and French; simultaneous translation, if needed, will be available. Every effort will be made by the Polish-Canadian hosts of the Congress to make the sojourn in Montreal for the participants and their families most interesting and pleasant. The program will include two social gatherings, a piano recital by Marek Jabfonski, art exhibitions, as well as an excursion to Quebec City ? old capital of French Canada. Accommodation will be available to the participants within the campus of McGill University: comfortable and at a moderate price. Further details concerning registration, accommodation and excursion are given below. We invite all of you most cordially to participate in this Congress. Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
