Cet article relve l'absence remarquable des documents personnels au sein des modles dominants d'valuation archivistique, que ce soit par le pass ou maintenant, de mme que l'insuffisance de la littrature actuelle traiter des problmes qui se retrouvent au coeur de l'valuation des documents personnels.L'auteur suggre que les mthodologies d'valuation qui se concentrent sur le contexte social entourant les documents d'archives ainsi que sur les fonctions et motivations de leurs crateurs pourraient contribuer grandement une analyse plus approfondie de ce secteur nglig de la thorie archivistique.
