Abstract
RÉSUMÉ Une objection parfois faite à l'anti-individualisme est que son hypothèse d'un rôle constitutif de l'environnement naturel et social dans l'individuation des attitudes intentionnelles invite au scepticisme quant à l'autorité de la première personne, ce privilège particulier que nous sommes tous censés détenir eu égard à la connaissance (non socratique) de soi. Gary Ebbs pense que cette sorte d'objection peut être contrée par l'abandon du réalisme métaphysique et du naturalisme scientifique et par l'adoption de ce qu'il appelle le «point de vue du participant sur nos pratiques linguistiques. En m'appuyant largement sur des considérations wittgeinsteiniennes, je soutiens qu'Ebbs a raison sur ce point, et je montre comment certaines objections à sa thèse peuvent être contrées. Je soutiens aussi que la simple adoption du point de vue du participant ne serf pas à réfuter le scepticisme à l'endroit du monde extérieur.
