Cet article propose une réflexion théorique et exploratoire sur les relations entre GIZC, réseaux, acteurs et territoires. L’étude des réseaux d’acteurs associés à la mise en œuvre d’une Gestion Intégrée des Zones Côtières (GIZC) est une approche originale de la gouvernance des territoires littoraux. D’un point de vue théorique, cette analyse permet un croisement des approches sociologiques et géographiques. Il s’agit non seulement d’analyser la structuration des acteurs, les niveaux territoriaux de leur action, de montrer comment les acteurs se mobilisent à l’échelle politique européenne et aux échelles nationales, mais également de considérer ce qu’apporte le processus de mise en réseau à la GIZC pour l’évolution des territoires. Pour comprendre la structuration et la complexité de fonctionnement des réseaux, il convient de les caractériser en s’intéressant à leur nature, leur dynamique, leur place et leur rôle dans l’élaboration de la GIZC. Les réseaux liés à la GIZC participent activement aux recompositions territoriales en cours des territoires littoraux à différentes échelles géographiques. Des exemples sont choisis dans l’Union européenne et en France à différentes échelles territoriales (régions, intercommunalités).
