Schwefelmonoxid ähnelt molekularem Sauerstoff, doch anders als O2 ist SO nicht auf der Erde, sondern nur im Weltall stabil. In der Zuschrift auf S. 823 ff. zeigen D. Stephan et al., dass frustrierte P/B-Lewis-Paare mit einem N-Sulfinylamin unter Bildung von PNSOB-Verknüpfungen reagieren. Die Produkte können als Phosphinimin-Boran-stabilisierte Schwefelmonoxid-Komplexe angesehen werden. Sie dienen als SO-Quelle für die Oxidation von PPh3 und die SO-Übertragung auf eine Vielzahl an Akzeptoren.
