La promotion des politiques d’adaptation, adossée à l’essor de la notion de résilience, change-t-elle la lecture de la société du risque telle que développée par Beck et Giddens ? Selon cette dernière, les nouveaux risques qu’affrontaient les Modernes étaient imputables aux effets de capture engendrés par l’imaginaire de la maitrise et les réalisations entreprises en son nom. Une des conséquences de ces analyses étaient que l’aspiration au risque zéro entretenait une dynamique infernale plutôt de la contenir. Que pensez de la promotion de la résilience ? Avec quel type d’imaginaire se confond-t-elle ? Correspond-t-elle à une régression du processus de réflexivité qui semblait caractériser la modernité tardive ou à la promotion d’un nouveau principe d’action ? Ce questionnement a configuré et animé les échanges consacrés aux opérations d’aménagement, d’urbanisme et d’architecture pour faire face aux conséquences des changements climatiques sur les territoires exposés. Alors que la référence à la résilience n’était pas cœur de l’élaboration du programme elle s’est de fait imposée au travers du colloque « Changements climatiques et aménagements urbains : quels discours, quelles expériences à l’échelle urbaine ? », 82e congrès de l’Acfas, 15 et 16 mai 2014, Université Concordia à Montréal.
