Abstract
Résumé Dans le contexte de la mondialisation, la mobilité internationale des cadres prend de plus en plus d’importance puisque c’est sur ces derniers que repose le développement des affaires à l’international. Parmi les nombreuses études qui établissent les déterminants de la mobilité internationale, certaines se penchent sur les caractéristiques individuelles des personnes susceptibles d’accepter une affectation internationale, alors que d’autres examinent l’incidence des pratiques de gestion sur la mobilité internationale. La présente étude combine ces deux tendances en considérant des caractéristiques individuelles et des conditions organisationnelles qui influent sur la décision d’un employé d’accepter ou de refuser une affectation internationale. Une enquête menée auprès de 337 diplômés au MBA a eu pour objet d’établir le profil des individus les plus enclins à accepter de se déplacer à l’international. Puis, 35 pratiques de gestion de la mobilité internationale ont été recensées à partir des écrits. Des analyses statistiques ont permis de relever les pratiques les plus susceptibles de favoriser l’acceptation d’une affectation à l’international. Les résultats et les limites de cette enquête sont discutés.
