NOTE DE L'ÉDITEURLimoges, 19-21 mai 2011 Le 44e congrès de l'Association des germanistes de l'enseignement supérieur (AGES), qui s'est déroulé comme prévu du 19 au 21 mai 2011, à la faculté des lettres et des sciences humaines de Limoges, a permis d'étudier une thématique aux vastes implications dont l'intérêt n'est pas à démontrer : « Le pouvoir au féminin ».Pendant trois jours, une cinquantaine de chercheurs venant de France et d'Allemagne ont analysé en commun comment peut être défini ce pouvoir, en tenant compte des limites auxquelles il se heurte à l'heure actuelle, comme il a pu le faire dans le passé.Pour la deuxième fois, l'axe thématique d'un congrès de l'AGES tournait autour de la femme : en 1981, il était question de « Femmes dans la littérature, littérature de femmes » ; trente ans plus tard, le sujet a été élargi aux questions relatives à la civilisation, à la linguistique et à l'histoire des idées.Il s'agissait d'intégrer également les arts, le cinéma et le monde du travail, ainsi que de relever le défi posé par les gender studies, approche scientifique adoptée aux États-Unis et en Allemagne, mais longtemps ignorée en France.Les efforts conjugués des participants ont stimulé de nouveaux questionnements et permis de préparer des innovations au sein de la germanistique française, tant au niveau thématique que méthodologique.La richesse du congrès était due, pour une large mesure, à la variété des sujets étudiés et des méthodes appliquées.Les rapports homme/femme et la construction d'identités féminines ont été traités en combinant approches synchroniques et diachroniques.La prise en compte de l'histoire du « pouvoir au féminin » a confirmé l'importance des recherches historiques, notamment dans une perspective franco-allemande, s'orientant sur le modèle de l'histoire croisée. « Le pouvoir au féminin »
