In Brief Three texts on diverse topics, including one on CD-ROM, are reviewed in this issue. According to Cheryl DeConde Johnson, the 4th edition of Auditory Disorders in School Children (by Roeser and Downs) is a comprehensive and well-organized text that provides timely information focused on children who are deaf and hard of hearing. A resource on a completely different topic, Mathematics and Physics for Speech and Hearing: A Problem-Based Approach (by Eddins, Kewley-Port, and Kehle), is described by Jennifer Lister as an innovative and flexible text with excellent laboratory exercises and problem sets for students. In his review of the Vestibular System (edited by Highstein, Fay, and Popper), Richard Roberts reports that this is a valuable resource that provides information concerning the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and clinical applications of recent research in the area.
