This paper contains the results of an extensive isotopic study of United States Geological Survey GSD-1G and MPI-DING reference glasses. Thirteen different laboratories were involved using high-precision bulk (TIMS, MC-ICP-MS) and microanalytical (LA-MC-ICP-MS, LA-ICP-MS) techniques. Detailed studies were performed to demonstrate the large-scale and small-scale homogeneity of the reference glasses. Together with previously published isotopic data from ten other laboratories, preliminary reference and information values as well as their uncertainties at the 95% confidence level were determined for H, O, Li, B, Si, Ca, Sr, Nd, Hf, Pb, Th and U isotopes using the recommendations of the International Association of Geoanalysts for certification of reference materials. Our results indicate that GSD-1G and the MPI-DING glasses are suitable reference materials for microanalytical and bulk analytical purposes. Ce document contient les résultats d’une importante étude isotopique des verres de référence USGS GSD-1G et MPI-DING. Treize laboratoires différents ont participé au travers de techniques analytiques de haute précision travaillant soit sur échantillon total (TIMS, MC-ICP-MS) soit par microanalyse «in situ» (LA-MC-ICP-MS, LA-ICP-MS). Des études détaillées ont été réalisées pour démontrer l’homogénéité aussi bien à grande qu’à petite échelle des verres de référence. Grace aux résultats de cette étude auxquels ont été ajoutés les données isotopiques déjà publiées de dix autres laboratoires, des valeurs de référence et des informations préliminaires ainsi que les incertitudes associées à un niveau de confiance de 95% ont été déterminées pour les isotopes de H, O, Li, B, Si, Ca, Sr, Nd, Hf, Pb, Th et U et ceci en utilisant les recommandations de l’Association internationale des géoanalystes (IAG) pour la certification de matériaux de référence. Nos résultats indiquent que les verres GSD-1G et MPI-DING sont des matériaux de référence appropriés pour la microanalyse et pour l’analyse sur échantillon total.
