Remarque liminaire : le prsent article tmoigne de la gense du projet documentaire commun aux bibliothques de la Fondation PSL et de son tat au dbut de l'anne 2012. Si le Liberlabo n'est plus d'actualit dans tous ses aspects, il a paru toutefois intressant de partager avec les publics, tudiants, chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs, ces rflexions sur l'outil en pleine transformation qu'est la bibliothque de recherche. 2 voqu pour la premire fois la confrence de presse inaugurale du campus PSL, le 16 avril 2010, le projet d'un Liberlabo rpond alors une commande expresse dans le cadre du Plan Campus : imaginer, tout en promouvant la coopration documentaire souhaite par les cinq chefs d'tablissements concerns 1 , les services que pourrait offrir une bibliothque de recherche, riche de nombreux fonds plurisculaires, l'horizon 2020.
