Abstract
<titre>Résumé</titre>Le présent article a pour propos d’examiner l’évolution des politiques gouvernementales de financement de la recherche scientifique au cours de laquelle le financement direct de chercheurs indépendants, qui était le système le plus répandu pendant les années soixante, a été remplacé par un éventail plus complexe de moyens de financement. Nombre de ces modalités sont destinées à fournir un appui à de vastes réseaux de chercheurs multidisciplinaires et multi-institutionnels, dont les travaux portent sur des problèmes pouvant présenter un intérêt économique ou social. L’émergence de ces nouveaux types de financement est étudiée au Canada, au Chili et en Afrique du Sud.
