In this study, we discuss our human-scale cylindrical-mirror anamorphosis that was the winning entry in a competition for a public art installation in Kitchener, a Canadian city. Constraints imposed by the artist, especially the overriding constraint that the observation point be a standard height (1.5 m) above the anamorphic plane (the pavement), as well as by the city required the design parameters (mirror radius and observer distance) to be carefully chosen. The artist (AHM) discusses his choice and intention for the anamorphized images, while the consultant (JLH) describes his calculation and testing of the parameters for the mirror, and describes the construction and the installation of the work.
