Abstract
Foucault n'aimait gure l'histoire des ides telle qu'on pouvait majoritairement la pratiquer son poque. De celle qui faisait se succder les thories comme autant de tentatives de plus en plus russies, mais toujours incertaines, pour accder au concept contemporain achev, il ne pouvait que refuser la faon d'hypostasier les concepts, la recherche d'un universel prsent dans la pense passe. celle qui isolait la spcificit d'une cole ou d'un individu et s'intressait aux volonts de l'auteur, il opposait la ncessit de dfinir une mthode d'analyse qui soit pure de tout anthropologisme 1 . Et surtout, il ne fallait pas, comme le faisait l'histoire marxiste des ides, rechercher la cause de constitution de certains concepts, relier une ide un contexte (conomique notamment) qui serait la raison de son mergence. L'histoire de l'humanit n'tait ni celle d'une raison reflte dans des consciences, ni un matrialisme dialectique.
