Abstract
Ein Zwei-Peptide-Lantibiotikum ist gegen bestimmte pathogene Bakterien in nanomolaren Konzentrationen wirksam. In ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 9614 ff. beschreiben J. C. Vederas et al. die erste Festphasensynthese von Lacticin 3147, dem Bisdesmethyl-Analogon von Lacticin A2. Diese Verbindung zeichnet sich durch eine starke synergistische antimikrobielle Aktivität in Gegenwart von Lacticin A1 aus. Auf diesem Weg sind auch andere Lantibiotika für Studien der Struktur-Aktivitäts-Beziehungen zugänglich. Bildentwurf: Annie Tykwinski.
