Abstract
Cet article s’inscrit dans une vision éthique du rôle du traducteur dans le contexte de la mondialisation. Il souligne le comportement nécessaire du traducteur dans un monde global où l’humain et la connaissance sont placés en concurrence face à la marchandisation des rapports interpersonnels. Cette idée sera développée à l’aide de trois notions philosophiques que le traducteur est invité à intégrer dans sa pratique professionnelle : le besoin d’accroître le désir de l’« être-ensemble » ainsi que l’a défini Paul Ricoeur en s’appuyant sur les travaux d’Hannah Arendt ; sa responsabilité dans la protection et la diffusion du « bien commun » écrit ; et, enfin, l’importance de la « philosophie du dialogue » telle qu’elle est présentée par Buber et Marcel et poursuivie par Levinas. En ces temps d’échanges mondiaux, cette intégration vise à préserver l’unicité de la relation humaine.
