Abstract
L’on voudrait que la traduction soit considérée comme une création ; or toutes les traductions ne sont pas créatives. Dans quelle mesure et en quoi y a-t-il création en traduction ? Les approches cognitives permettent de faire la lumière sur l’élaboration du sens et de la forme en traduction, et de préciser la notion de créativité. Des modèles sont issus des théories et des études empiriques sur la question. Nous chercherons à les discuter à la lumière des résultats de nos propres observations. Nous proposons un modèle de la créativité qui intègre la compréhension et la réécriture : une double hélice traversée par cinq axes (formel, sémantique, référentiel, narratif et traductologique) pour rendre compte des différents niveaux sur lesquels s’exerce la créativité. Le cas particulier de la traduction littéraire sera aussi discuté. Finalement, nous dégagerons quelques critères de la créativité.
