Time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS) has been applied to determine the complete coat protein amino acid sequences of a number of distinct brome mosaic virus (BMV) isolates. Ionization was carried out by both electrospray ionization and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI).
