Abstract
L’auteur de l’article met en perspective la démarche intellectuelle et existentielle qui préside à la réflexion d’Y. Ledure. Il souligne d’abord que le projet de ce dernier est de « refonder le christianisme », c’est-à-dire d’asseoir le christianisme sur des bases qui ne soient plus métaphysiques, mais qui découlent résolument d’une anthropologie. Il montre ensuite qu’Y. Ledure opère une « déduction », au sens kantien du terme, de cette anthropologie, d’une part, à partir de la catégorie philosophique de la liberté entendue comme « détermination de soi », au sens que lui donne la philosophie des Lumières et, d’autre part, partir de la catégorie théologique de la « filiation ». C’est en opérant un croisement herméneutique de ces deux catégories qu’Y. Ledure entend aménager le socle anthropologique du christianisme. L’homme est un être capable de se déterminer comme fils de Dieu et un être capable d’entrer dans « la liberté (libertas) des enfants de Dieu ». À la différence de la métaphysique, le paradigme anthropologique n’est plus celui d’une vérité atemporelle, mais celui d’une liberté (libertas), dans et par laquelle s’atteste une vérité en devenir : celle qui rend l’homme libre. The author brings into perspective the intellectual and existential approach informing Y. Ledure’s thought. He first underscores the latter’s project of “refounding Christianity”, that is to say, of laying the basis of Christianity on anthropological, and no longer metaphysical, foundations. He goes on to show that Y. Ledure “deduces” –in the Kantian sense of the word– this anthropology, on the one hand from the philosophical category of « freedom » understood as “self-determination” in the sense Enlightenment philosophy gives to it, and on the other hand from the theological category of “filiation”. It is through a hermeneutical combination of these two categories that Y. Ledure attempts to adjust the anthropological basis of Christianity. Man is a being capable of determining himself as son of God and of participating in “the freedom (libertas) of God’s children”. In contrast to metaphysics, the anthropological paradigm is no longer that of an a-temporal truth, but that of a freedom (libertas), in which and through which a truth “in progress” becomes manifest : the truth that makes man free.
