La différance est probablement le “lemme” le plus fécond de tous les termini technici de la pensée de Jacques Derrida. Pourtant, de tout ce que Derrida a pu en dire, on ne peut déduire ni définition ni même contenu de ce mot ou ce concept, qui n’est “ni un mot, ni un concept”. Comment donc le traduire, avec toute la difficulté qu’il apporte avec lui : usage du “a”, indistinction à l’oral avec l’“autre” différence , travail d’ambiguïté avec les deux verbes “différer” et “différencier”, etc.? Ce texte entend mettre à l’épreuve le geste traductif à partir d’une étude de trois réceptions du terme en portugais, en anglais et en finnois.
