Abstract
Résultat d’une analyse théorique dont l’objectif était de découvrir si le système formel d’évaluation au niveau primaire risque de pénaliser les enfants des milieux défavorisés, le présent texte, délibérément partial, formule différentes hypothèses concernant divers aspects de l’évaluation éventuellement pénalisants pour lesdits milieux. Ainsi, les pénalités potentielles liées à l’utilisation de l’intelligence et de l’apprentissage en tant qu’objets d’évaluation sont discutées et illustrées par l’analyse de tests en usage dans le système scolaire québécois. De même, la priorité accordée à l’évaluation au service des décisions administratives par rapport à l’évaluation au service des apprentissages est établie clairement de même que les conséquences négatives de l’utilisation massive des résultats de l’évaluation pour des décisions administratives. Plus loin, l’approche normative est présentée comme la plus susceptible de pénaliser systématiquement les étudiants des milieux défavorisés alors que l’approche critériée semble moins contribuer à amplifier leur marginalité. Enfin, les implications d’une centralisation pédagogique sont analysées.
