<p class="SemEspaamento1" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="line-height: 15px;">A proximidade das equipes da Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) com as famílias faz com que se tornem recurso </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">fundamental para a reinserção dos pacientes com transtornos mentais na comunidade. O presente estudo teve </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">como objetivo caracterizar o atendimento dos pacientes com demandas de saúde mental em uma ESF e identificar o </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">conhecimento da equipe acerca da definição de transtorno mental e da reabilitação psicossocial. Trata-se de estudo </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">descritivo, com nove profissionais de uma ESF de um município do estado de São Paulo. Foram realizadas entrevistas </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">estruturadas e os dados foram analisados utilizando-se a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostraram </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">a ausência de conduta padronizada dos profissionais para os pacientes com transtorno mental. Os participantes </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">apresentaram dificuldades na definição de transtorno mental e seus sintomas. Para a equipe estudada, lidar com </span><span style="line-height: 15px;">usuários com transtornos psiquiátricos exige estratégias inovadoras que possibilitem o atendimento integral.</span>
