Abstract
The first measurements of the coherence factor ${R}_{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}$ and the average strong-phase difference ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}$ in ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{\mp}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ decays are reported. These parameters can be used to improve the determination of the unitary triangle angle $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ in ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{D}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays, where $\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{D}$ is either a ${D}^{0}$ or a ${\overline{D}}^{0}$ meson decaying to the same final state, and also in studies of charm mixing. The measurements of the coherence factor and strong-phase difference are made using quantum-correlated, fully reconstructed ${D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ pairs produced in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ resonance. The measured values are ${R}_{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}=0.73\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.08$ and ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}=(8.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}15.2)\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$ for an unrestricted kinematic region and ${R}_{{K}^{*}K}=1.00\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.16$ and ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}^{*}K}=(26.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}15.8)\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$ for a region where the combined ${K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ invariant mass is within $100\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ of the ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ mass. These results indicate a significant level of coherence in the decay. In addition, isobar models are presented for the two decays, which show the dominance of the ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ resonance. The branching ratio $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}})/\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})$ is determined to be $0.592\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.044(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.018(\mathrm{syst})$, which is more precise than previous measurements.
