We would like to introduce the most recent changes at FEBS Letters designed to improve our service to our authors and readers. Starting in this issue, we are introducing a new section featuring interviews with our Editorial Board members. Each month we will place a “Spotlight on…” their research, interests, views and careers. As well as making interesting reading, we hope that these articles will help our authors to identify the editorial board member who is best suited to handle their manuscripts. We look forward to featuring all our editors. The first of these interviews features our managing editor. Our website has recently been revamped to have a more attractive appearance and provide you with more services. At http://www.febsletters.org, you have free access to our journal content, such as all Minireviews, Special Issues and Editorials, in addition to the existing free access to all articles that are over twelve months old. This free access is also available via Pubmed, first by clicking the ‘Elsevier Science-Full Text Article’ symbol and further choosing the ‘Article via FEBS Letters’ option. We publish several Special Issues every year containing a series of Minireviews written by invited experts. Each Special Issue has a different theme and provides a good overview of the current state of knowledge in a particular research field. The first two Special Issues for this year focus on Systems Biology and the 130th Nobel Symposium. The Systems Biology Special Issue, which showcases a systems approach to our understanding of biology, will be distributed at the ‘Systems and Biology’ Keystone conference in Colorado in April this year. The Nobel Special issue which was published in February, is a collection of papers from the Nobel Symposium “Molecular Mechanisms of Biological Systems”. All the articles in these special issues are freely available through our website at http://www.febsletters.org. We are always striving to improve our author service, and we hope that you will find these changes and updates to our journal useful. Feedback is always welcome!
