Abstract

Une équipe conjointe de médecins/infirmières s’est efforcée de déterminer si un service de soins téléphoniques géré par des infirmières pouvait être utilisé en toute efficacité et sécurité pour assurer le suivi de patients atteints de cancers hématologiques indolents et chroniques. Les patients se présentant à leur visite de suivi régulière ont été évalués pour déterminer leur admissibilité au service de télésoins pilote, avant d’y être référés par leur oncologue. Les patients ont été interviewés au téléphone par une infirmière en oncologie expérimentée en cancers hématologiques. Cinquante-trois patients ont consenti à participer à l’étude pilote. Après leur entrevue auprès du service de télésoins, les patients ont été invités à remplir un questionnaire sur la satisfaction des sujets (QSS). De manière générale, la satisfaction des patients à l’égard du service de télésoins était élevée. Il a été déterminé que les patients diagnostiqués avec un cancer hématologique d’évolution lente et chronique pouvaient être suivis en toute efficacité et sécurité par un service de télésoins en oncologie géré par des infirmières.
