L�exportation de l�huile d�olive occupe une place tres importante dans l�economie de la Tunisie vu qu�elle contribue a maintenir l�equilibre de la balance commerciale agricole. Elle a represente 4% des exportations totales du pays en 2008. Cependant, ces dernieres annees, nous assistons a l�emergence de nouveaux pays producteurs/ exportateurs concurrents de la Tunisie, qui essayent de conquerir le marche de l�huile d�olive et s�accroissent a un rythme important. Il y a donc lieu de considerer la situation de la Tunisie et de la comparer aux nouveaux pays emergents qui menacent sa position sur le marche international. Le present travail s�inscrit dans le cadre de cette preoccupation. L�objectif est d�analyser la position actuelle de la Tunisie sur le marche mondial de l�huile d�olive afin de contribuer a determiner les orientations du pays dans la mise en oeuvre d�une strategie plus efficace pour relever le defi de la concurrence. Dans cette optique, on a evalue la position competitive des exportations tunisiennes d�huile d�olive par rapport aux nouveaux concurrents moyennant l�approche d�analyse shift-share sur deux periodes 1997-2001 et 2002-2006. Les resultats empiriques ont montre que la Tunisie a su maintenir sa place preponderante sur les marches americain et canadien vis-a-vis de ses nouveaux concurrents qui sont la Syrie, l�Argentine, l�Australie et le Chili, en augmentant, en meme temps sa part de marche. Pour l�Europe, la Tunisie reste toujours le premier fournisseur, mais avec une part de marche qui a diminue au fil des annees et qui est compensee par l�augmentation de la part de la Syrie.
