Abstract
Resume Objectif : Le present article a pour but de presenter le programme de doctorat professionnel de 1er cycle en pharmacie de la Faculte de pharmacie de l’Universite de Montreal. Mise en contexte : A l’automne 2007, la Faculte de pharmacie de l’Universite de Montreal admettait ses premiers candidats au doctorat professionnel de premier cycle en pharmacie. Le programme de doctorat comprend 164 credits et dure quatre annees reparties sur neuf trimestres. Par ailleurs, il comporte 124 credits de cours et 40 credits de formation en milieu de pratique. Plusieurs innovations pedagogiques ont ete mises en place dans le programme afin de favoriser le developpement des competences specifiques et transversales jugees necessaires pour les futurs pharmaciens. Conclusion : La premiere cohorte d’etudiants s’apprete a effectuer son premier stage en centre hospitalier des le printemps 2009. Ces nouveaux pharmaciens seront admis dans la pratique pharmaceutique des l’ete 2011. Abstract Objective: This article presents the entry-level Pharm.D. program implemented at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universite de Montreal. Context: In the fall of 2007, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universite de Montreal enrolled its first candidates in their new entry-level Pharm.D. program. This program of 164 credits is divided into 9 trimesters over a 4-year period. It includes 124 credits of courses and 40 credits of clerkships in various clinical settings. Several pedagogical innovations were introduced in the program in order to allow the development of the required specific and transverse competencies by our future pharmacists. Conclusion: The first cohort of students will complete the first hospital clerkship in the spring of 2009. These new pharmacists will enter into practice in the summer of 2011.
