Citra telah menjadi perhatian baru di jaman global modern ini khususnya bagi profesi public relation. Pembentukan citra yang baik telah menjadi gol setiap perusahaan agar dapat memenangkan publik di tengah persaingan yang semakin ketat dengan perusahaan kompetitor. Pengalaman masa lampau dan ekspektasi akan masa depan dianggap mampu berperan dalam pembentukan citra perusahaan.  Penelitian ini dilakukan penulis untuk mengetahui citra yang terbentuk di benak konsumen setelah adanya ketidaksesuaian kinerja layanan dengan ekspektasi awal konsumen yang dilakukan sebelum melakukan keputusan pembelian. Penelitian akan dilakukan pada English First, salah satu lembaga kursus Bahasa Inggris ternama di tanah air yang identik dengan citra native speakers sebagai tenaga pengajarnya. Lewat metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, peneliti ingin mengetahui sejauh mana citra tersebut membentuk ekspektasi para murid, sejauh mana kinerja layanan yang mereka peroleh dapat memenuhi ekspektasi awal tersebut dan diskonfirmasi ekspektasi yang terjadi, serta citra yang terbentuk setelah diskonfirmasi ekspektasi terjadi. Peneliti mengaitkan konsep citra dan diskonfirmasi ekspektasi dalam suatu bentuk siklus yang saling berkaitan satu sama lain. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap empat orang murid dan satu pihak manajemen EF. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa  diskonfirmasi ekspektasi berperan dalam membentuk citra jangka pendek EF di benak para murid. Kata kunci: Diskonfirmasi Ekspektasi, Ekspektasi, Pembentukan Citra, Native Speakers. Image has become the new concern of company in the modern global era especially for the public relations professional. The favorable image form is of the goal of every company to win the public in the venomous competition with the same field competitors. The research is conducted to discover the image formation in consumer mind after discrepancies performances compare to the prior expectation of consumer during the post-purchasing time. The research conducted in English First, one of the most famous English Course in Indonesia which identically known with the image of the native speakers as the teachers. By using the descriptive qualitative  method, this research aims to discover how far the image can form the students’ expectation of the existence of native speakers, how far the service performance and its confirmation to the expectation, and the image of EF after the expectation disconfirmation. Researcher places the two concept of image and expectation disconfirmation into an mutual interplay cycle. The data is collected by doing in-depth-interview to four students and an employee as the informants.
