Abstract
Les ressources cognitives consacrées aux processus d’intégration et aux processus locaux sont-elles comparables chez les lecteurs sourds et chez les lecteurs entendants? Notre hypothèse principale en est une d’interaction entre deux variables : la population (lecteurs adultes sourds, lecteurs universitaires entendants, lecteurs entendants de 3 e année du primaire), et la nature des processus (locaux, d’intégration). Le matériel de lecture est présenté à l’ordinateur au moyen de la technique Zigzag (voir http://www.unites.uqam.ca/zigzag). Les résultats soutiennent l’hypothèse que les processus d’intégration en fin de phrase ne sont pas activés substantiellement chez les lecteurs sourds. Il se peut que la capacité de traitement macrostructurel soit lourdement hypothéquée par le manque de ressources cognitives disponibles, puisqu’elles seraient utilisées à des fins de traitement microstructurel.
