Apresenta-se a tradução de uma das histórias do livro blooletting & miraculous Cures do médico-escritor canadiano contemporâneo Vincent lam, vencedor do Scotiabank giller Prize 2006. com esta obra tornou-se no mais jovem vencedor deste prestigiado prémio literário, até então conquistado por escritores como Alice munro, margaret Atwood e mordecai richler, bem como no primeiro vencedor deste prémio com a sua primeira obra. este jovem escritor, médico de formação, é médico de emergência em toronto, tendo ajudado a lutar contra o surto da SrAg em 2003 no toronto east general Hospital. o autor cedeu-nos os direitos de tradução desta história para publicação na revista da FCS da UFP. The translation of one of the stories of the book blooletting & miraculous Cures by the contemporary canadian writer and physician Vincent lam, winner of the Scotiabank giller Prize 2006, is presented. With this work he became not only the youngest winner of this prestigious literary award, whose previous recipients include Alice munro, margaret Atwood and mordecai richler, but also the first author to win the award with a first written work. this young writer, a doctor by training, is an emergency physician in toronto, who helped to fight the 2003 SArS outbreak at the toronto east general Hospital. the author authorized the translation and publishing of this story in the magazine of the FHS of FPU.
