Abstract
Der Begriff Migrationsmanagement ist in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten zum großen Schlagwort der global zu Migration und Migrationspolitik geführten Diskussion geworden. Mit Migrationsmanagement als viel verwendetem buzz word ist der Gedanke verbunden, dass grenzüberschreitende Mobilitäts- und Wanderungsvorgänge angesichts fortgeschrittener Internationalisierungs- und Transnationalisierungsprozesse heute in einer völlig anderen Weise wahrgenommen und steuernd beeinflusst werden sollten als früher. Das propagierte neue Management grenzüberschreitender Mobilitäten und Migrationen fußt dabei auf einem grundsätzlichen Perspektivenwechsel: Statt als Problem und Gefahr für Nationalstaaten und deren Gesellschaften werden auf Dauerhaftigkeit oder lediglich auf temporäre (Zwischen-)Aufenthalte angelegte räumliche Bevölkerungsbewegungen im Rahmen von Migrationsmanagement als Chance begriffen und als Vorgänge, die ökonomischen Mehrwert generieren, deshalb aus dem Blickwinkel des ökonomischen Neoliberalismus und Utilitarismus erleichtert und gefördert werden sollen (Geiger und Pécoud 2010b; Kalm 2010).
