Sommaire Le premier tome de l'Annuaire canadien de droit international / The Canadian Yearbookof International Law (ACDI/CYIL) a ete publie en 1963.Puisque les anniversaires invitent a reflexion, cet article traite de l'aspect canadien du patrimoine, des aspirations et des contributions de l'ACDI/CYIL a l'occasion de sa cinquantierne annee de publication. En plus d'indiquer sa localisation, l'identite canadienne de l'ACDI/CYIL sert egalement a souligner son role important comme forum pour la diffusion d' etudes scientifiques, tant par des universitaires que des praticiens bases au Canada. En a resulte une collection importante d'ceuvres qui donne un apen;:u des opinions des Canadiens et Canadiennes sur des questions de droit international. Mention est egalement faite de la valeur professionnelle de l'ACDI/CYIL, qui a servi de registre faisant autorite de la pratique canadienne dans le domaine. Summary The first volume of The Canadian Yearbook of International Law/ Annuaire canadien de droit international (CYIL/ACDl) was published in 1963.Anniversaries being a time for reflection, this article examines the Canadian aspect of the CYIL/ACDFs heritage, aspirations, and contributions on the occasion of its fiftieth year of publication. In addition to indicating its locality, the Canadian identity ofthe CYIL/ ACDI also serves to highlight the journal's important rol e as an outlet for scholarship by academics and practitioners based in Canada, resulting in a collection of works that provides insight into the views of Canadians on matters of internationallaw. Mention is also made of the professional value of the CYIL/ACDI in its provision of an authoritative record of Canadian practice in the field.
