Developing a continuing education program for technical professionals under a cost–recovery mandate within a short span of five years is difficult enough; expanding it to make it national is indeed challenging. Add to this the ambivalence of the faculty and administration while trying adjust to the fast pace of growth, the reaction of turf–watching peers, and the cyclical nature of industries whose training budgets pay for their employees to attend, it becomes a horrendous task, the progress of which must depend on the dedication of its staff.
