The present report is the result of developed works in the context of the Project "Um mergulho nas questes tnico-raciais" (Diving in ethnic-racial questions) occurred in 2006, in the Escola Municipal Afrnio Rodrigues located in Jardim Brasilia -Quarter, Uberlndia -MG. The project involved professional and students of Adult and Young Education -EJA (nocturnal). The experience aimed to initiate the process of implementation the study of Africa History and Afro-Brazilian Culture in the School, in accordance with the Federal Law n. 10.639 of 10 of January, 2003, which became obligator cited education in all the levels of the education. In methodology terms, the activities had been developed in the form of: lectures, workshops, exhibition of films, and accomplishment of festivity in commemoration to the Day of the Black Conscience (November 20th). Among the worked subjects, it can be stressed: Racism, History of Africa, History of the Afro-descendants in Brazil and Black Culture Expressions. The involved students produced several materials on subjects such as: posters, drawings, poetries, mural periodical, construction of graphs, which had aimed at sensitization in the direction of the change of attitudes on the part of the pertaining to school community and the quarter, in relation to the questions. The results of the Project had demonstrated to respect and valuation how much to the sociocultural luggage of the students and the quarter, reflected in the School, while privileged
