Abstract
Au Quebec, le dynamisme de la recherche universitaire et le changement social des annees 70 ont favorise l'emergence des therapies comportementales dans le traitement de l'alcoolisme et des toxicomanies. C'est precisement en 1970 qu'un groupe de psychologues des universites de Moncton et de Montreal fondent l'Association pour l'Avancement de la Therapie Behaviorale en Milieu Francophone. Mme Marcil-Denault a ete membre puis presidente du conseil d'administration de cette association de 1977 a 1984. Son arrivee au Centre Domremy-Montreal, en 1980, coincide avec un virage dans la philosophie de traitement amene par l'avenement du nouveau ministere des Affaires sociales. Le centre passe d'une approche medicale a une approche psychosociale. Pendant cette periode, l'influence du courant behavioriste americain se fait sentir dans plusieurs domaines dont celui de la toxicomanie. Pour illustrer l'introduction et l'utilisation de la therapie cognitivo-comportementale, l'auteur presentera un apercu de trois programmes auxquels elle a contribue depuis 1980. Le premier, intitule Desensibilisation 1, a ete offert en milieu residentiel de 1980 a 1989. Vint ensuite le programme de jour Developpement de competences, de 1989 a 1995 et finalement, le programme de boire controle albertain L'Alcochoix, experimente a Montreal en 1995-1996 et actuellement diffuse a l'interieur du reseau des centres de sante de premiere ligne du Quebec.
