Pulmonalarterielle Hypertonie (PAH) ist mit einer gesteigerten Mortalität von Patienten mit idiopathischer Lungenfibrose (IPF) assoziiert. Transforming Growth Factor β1 (TGFβ1) ist nicht nur zentral sowohl in Initiierung als auch der Progression der IPF, für Mitglieder der TGFβ Superfamilie ist ebenfalls eine Bedeutung in der Pathogenese des pulmonalvaskulären Remodellings bei PAH bekannt.
