Abstract
Este texto trata de algumas questões éticas que se colocam aos investigadores em ciências sociais que adotam uma perspetiva etnometodológica, e que decorrem da indispensável obtenção de autorização para gravar as palavras das pessoas que pretendem investigar. Partindo da análise de gravações de sequências de pedidos de autorização para gravar, no quadro de entrevistas de atendimento de ação social, os autores procuram definir o esquema prototípico destas sequências, assim como as suas variantes, e mostram que os interlocutores possuem uma competência negocial específica que os habilita a gerir localmente as questões éticas com que estão confrontados.
