Cet article vise à présenter la recherche-action en tant qu’approche de recherche rattachée au paradigme du pragmatisme dans les sciences de la gestion. Nous retraçons les préoccupations des chercheurs à l’origine de sa création pour en présenter les caractéristiques distinctives et situer le débat historique qui accompagne son utilisation au sein des milieux universitaires. Nous traitons par la suite des différences existant entre la recherche-action et la consultation, pour finalement nous attarder aux implications méthodologiques, pratiques et éthiques de la recherche-action.
