Abstract
The goals of the study was to analyze level and spectrum of chromosome aberrations in lymphocytes of children living in a boarding school (Tashtagol, Kemerovo region) in connection with genes polymorphism of enzymes of xenobiotics biotransformation phase I (CYP1A1, CYP1A2) and II (GSTM1, GSTT1, GSTP1). The study included 211 people from 8 to 16 years old. The ethnic composition of the group studied was the following: Shors (133), Caucasians (38), Metises (40). High frequency of chromosome damage incidence in boarding school children compared to the control group incidence rate may indicate organism adaptation processes failure caused by chronic exposure to excessive radon and heavy metals concentrations. The analysis of xenobiotic biotransformation enzymes genotypes and chromosomal damage frequency correlation in these three ethnic groups allowed identifying the so-called «protective» and «predisposing» genotypes. Cytogenetic study and analysis of correlation of «protective» and «predisposing» genotypes and different types of chromosomal damage identified significant ethnic differences. It was shown that «predisposing» genotypes in Shors are GSTT1 0/0, in Caucasians CYP1A2 *1A*1A, GSTM1 0/0, in Metis GSTP1 Val / Val. As «protective» genotypes the following were identified: in Shors GSTT1 +/+, in Caucasians CYP1A2 *1A*1F, *1F*1F and GSTM1 +/+, in Metis GSTP1 Ala/Ala and Ala/Val.
