Abstract
With the advent of the knowledge society,especially in a globalization and market-oriented social change,higher education's role in social development is becoming increasingly important and carrying more and more social expectations.The quality of higher education has also been increasingly paid much more attention.As a key element to protect quality of higher education,faculty development has been paid unprecedented attention.Developed countries in Europe and America have taken various measures to greatly improve the quality of university teachers.Faculty development has become the focus of the reform of higher education from the perspective of Canadian policy and practice.
