Objective To investigate the impairment of cognitive function and the feature of event related potential P300(ERP P300) in patients with Methamphetamine dependence.Methods 30 patients aged 18 to 65 years old with Methamphetamine dependence(study group) and 30 well-matched healthy individuals(control group) were assessed with Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA) and ERP P300.The performance of MoCA and the parameters of ERP P300 were compared between the two groups.Results The latencies of P2,N2,P3 in CZ,as well as the latencies of N1,N2,P2,P3 in PZ were significantly longer in study group than those in control group(P0.05 or P0.01).The amplitudes of CZ and PZ were significantly lower in study group than those in control group(P0.05 or P0.01).Total score and 7 factor scores of MoCA in study group were significantly lower than those in control group(P0.05 or P0.01).In study group,the latencies of N1,N2,P2,P3 in PZ were significantly negatively correlated with total score and factor scores of MoCA(P0.05 or P0.01),the amplitude of PZ were significantly positively correlated with total score and factor scores of MoCA(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion The cognitive function is impaired in patients with methamphetamine dependence.Event-related potential P300 can be used as an objective index to assess the impairment of cognitive function in patients with Methamphetamine dependence.
