Abstract

Based on the happiness questionnaire designed according to Maslow 's hierarchy of needs,391 residents were surveyed face- to- face in the minority areas of Lanzhou city. The survey data were analyzed through a variety of methods including t- test,variance analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis. The results showed that happiness index in the minority areas of Lanzhou city was 3. 81 ± 0. 881,factors that affected the overall happiness of residents from high to low were economic status,physical and mental health,diet conditions,family relationships,living environment and ethnic products. Religious had significant influenced the residents' happiness in minority area of Lanzhou City,which can generally improve the happiness of residents in minority area. The group differences analysis showed that overall happiness significant differences in nationality,religious belief,registered permanent residence and marital status.
