There are so many factors that can effect the production of rabbit,such as breeds,feed nutrition,feeding management,the prevention and treatment of disease et.al..The feed nutrition is the most important material base.How to use the feed scientifically and reasonably is the fundamental guarantee for improving rabbit production.Iodien(I) is one of the necessary trace elements in the growth and production of animals,although its requirement is very small,but it has a huge effect of the body.The main function of I is participating in the synthesis of thyroid hormone,and throid hormone is the mediator of the I functions.If the rabbit is I deficiency,it will lead to growth and development retardation,fur quality reduction,metabolic disorder,et.al..Thus it will affect animal productivity.But too much absorb of I will result in toxicosis and have influence on the growthing development.This paper briefly reviewed the nutrition effects of essential trace elements I on rabbits.
