Hydrated titanium sol particles-in tercalated layered niobate was prep ared through the reaction between n-decylamine-intercalated niobate and hydrated product of tetrabutyl t itanate.The titania-pillared layered niobic acid then obtained by calcining the t itanium sol particles-intercalate d niobate at 450℃in air.The resultin g material has been characterized by means of XRD,IR,BET surface area and pore size d istribution measurement techniques.The pillared sample was porous(mainly mesopores),with a high BET surface area of 131.3m 2 ·g -1 and an in-terlayer distance of 1.26nm at 450℃.Test of thermal stability revealed t hat the structure of the titania-pillared layered niobic acid was stable after this material calcined at 550℃for 2h in air.
